CENTRAL TELECOM JOIN OTHER BIG CHIPS FOR AWARD SUCCESS
Burton-based Central Telecom, market leaders in the supply of integrated telecommunications solutions, have celebrated the launch of their new interactive website by reaching the finals of one of the UK's most prestigious technology awards.
The company, which also operates a satellite office Manchester, beat off the challenge from 250 other companies from throughout the north west to reach the finals in the Best Business to Business Category at the Big Chip Awards, which were held at Palace Hotel in Manchester.
Central Telecom created its first website more than five years ago and has recently invested more than £10,000 in redesigning and rebranding the site, which now attracts more than 900 visitors per month.
The new site, www.central-telecom.co.uk, combines sophisticated web collaboration with simple navigation tools to create a unique interactive experience. It complements the other elements of the company's marketing mix by providing the information and support that purchase specifiers need when selecting specific products and integrated communications solutions.
With up-to-date information on the latest developments in new technology and comprehensive FAQ's, the site serves as an invaluable source of information on every facet of the telecommunications market. In addition it provides detailed information about Central Telecom's business partners, together with detailed case studies and customer testimonials.
Products and services can be purchased on-line, thanks to a comprehensive product catalogue with extensive search facilities. E-mail and 'phone me' features, plus full technical response are also available, supported by an e-business portal.
"This category attracted a large number of entries from a wide range of disciplines and the three finalists were those companies which used their web site to best advantage in enhancing relationships with their staff and customers," commented Paul Ellaby from sponsors Hammon Suddards Edge.
"Central Telecom, who are newcomers to the awards, came a very close second to winners and competition veterans J4b, the UK's leading grant information service," added Paul.
"Over the past 15 years Central Telecom has established itself as one of the UK's leading integrated communications and CRM specialists, with close on 250,000 end users and our website now forms an integral part of its marketing strategy," commented Marketing Manager Julie White who oversaw the development of the new site.
"This is the first time that we have entered such a prestigious competition and to be voted runners-up is a tremendous accolade and one of the whole marketing team should be justifiably proud," added Julie.
The website is set to be further enhanced in the coming months with the introduction of e-business fulfilment, webchat and web collaboration.
