CENTRAL TELECOM PROMOTES FOOTBALL CLUBS TO THE TOP OF THE COMMUNICATIONS LEAGUE
Football and rugby clubs throughout the UK could be changing the way that they do business - thanks to Burton-on-Trent based Central Telecom.
The company, which is one of the UK's leading independent voice and data specialists, teamed up with some of the biggest names in communications technology to promote its table-topping communications solutions at a special Soccer Communications Technology Forum.
The forum was staged at Villa Park, home of Aston Villa F.C, and was attended by representatives from premiership and football league clubs throughout the country.
The event took the form of a series of live demonstrations and presentations from Central Telecom and some of its premier business partners, including Avaya, the official converged technology sponsors of the World Cup 2002, BT and Gold Systems Europe Ltd, the leading developer of voice recognition systems.
Club Secretaries and IT managers were shown how implementing the latest communications solutions can improve customer service, enabling customer enquiries and ticket sales to be handled more efficiently and cost effectively.
Live demonstrations of leading edge solutions also demonstrated how web-enabled contact centers, voice recognition systems and internet integrated data, linked to the latest telephony, can open up the power of communications.
Of particular interest was a demonstration from Ron Griffiths of Gold Systems Europe, who outlined how the latest voice recognition software is revolutionising high volume ticket sales. Rather than use agents to answer the phones, the new system converses 'naturally' with the caller, who can order and pay for tickets without having to go through queuing systems or the old touch tone system.
Northern Line also attended the event and presented their latest interactive quiz based around SMS messaging which is proving successful during half times at many premiership grounds. "These new integrated voice and data solutions really could change the way that leading soccer and rugby clubs are run and representatives from those clubs that attended the event are very excited about the opportunities it offers them," commented Spencer Bradshaw, Business Development Director at Central Telecom.
"Thanks to John Winchester, Vice President and Managing Director of Avaya UK and Steven Morris, also from Avaya, and our other business partners for supporting what has been a very successful event," added Spencer.
Over the past 16 years Central Telecom has established a reputation as one of the UK's leading integrated communications specialists, with more than 200,000 end users, ranging from SME's, to blue-chip and public sector organizations.
Strategic alliances with the industry's major players enables the company to deliver total communications solutions - including voice, converged voice and data and messaging network services, plus a range of cabling and support services. It also provides systems integration for customers looking to build links between contact technologies and enterprise data.
