CENTRAL TELECOM AWARDED MARKETING RECOGNITION FROM AVAYA

Communications specialist Central Telecom has become the first company ever to be awarded a Channel Marketing Recognition Award by Avaya, a leading global provider of business communications software, systems and services. Avaya has given this award as part of their business partner program, to recognise marketing excellence within the channel.

In 2003, the company, whose headquarters is on Wetmore Road in Burton-on-Trent, became only the second company in Europe, the Middle East and Asia to be awarded Platinum Partner status by Avaya in recognition of its business commitment, levels of certification and superlative levels of customer service.

Now, it is the first Avaya business partner to be awarded a Channel Marketing Award in recognition of the outstanding achievements of its in-house marketing department in the promotion of Avaya products and services. Central Telecom were particularly recognised for their achievements in joint marketing campaigns and were the only business partner to have consistently showed success across the whole spectrum of funded marketing activities.

The team, which is headed by marketing director Julie White, is renowned throughout the telecoms industry for the diverse range of innovative and proactive marketing campaigns that it implements across both public and private sectors.

Its activities cover the whole spectrum of the marketing mix and range from PR campaigns to press and radio advertising direct marketing initiatives and live events.

Over the past 12 months a series of Focus Groups and Technology Forums have been staged as far a field as Rome, Lapland and Sardinia. Bespoke telecommunications seminars have been organised specifically for individual industry sectors such as the NHS and Local Government.

Central Telecom continues to support its client base with a whole host of complementary literature, including magazines, product and industry news and product updates. This is supported by a website and innovative e-biz portal, which provide a unique service to anyone requiring information about the telecommunications industry.

"Over the past year I have seen marketing programmes of outstanding quality delivered by Central Telecom, including sales incentives, customer road shows, Avaya Focus Days and customer newsletters, to name but a few," explained Clive Sawkins, vice-president of Avaya in the UK and Ireland.

"I believe that these programmes truly reflect the care and attention to detail that Central Telecom provides to its customers.

"I would like to thank the marketing team at Central Telecom for its active participation and investment in Avaya and look forward to continue working with the organisation in true partnership to collectively deliver the best business solutions to our customers," added Mr Sawkins.

"Central Telecom's in-house PR and marketing department has established a reputation as one of the best in the channel and is a match for any external agency, so we are delighted to receive recognition for our efforts," commented marketing director Julie White.

"We in the marketing department work hard to devise and implement a wide range of campaigns that enable the company to manage and retain existing customers and secure additional income from their existing investment.

"As a result, our proactive campaigns play a key role in the company's continued growth, which exceeded the £20 million mark for the first time in the company's history in 2004," added Julie.
