KEY APPOINTMENTS AT CENTRAL TELECOM


Leading systems integrators Central Telecom have further strengthened their position in the Voice and IP telephony market with two key additions to their rapidly expanding Client Services team.

The company, which recently became one of only a handful of Nortel Voice Solution Partners in the UK, has appointed Nick Lloyd and Jason Stevenson , two of the industry's most prolific Nortel professionals, to the posts of Nortel Business Development Manager and Nortel Business Development Consultant respectively.

Nick is an Enterprise Voice Solutions specialist, who has a wealth of experience in the telecoms sector. Over the past 32 years he has worked extensively in the industry and was with BT for 29 years as Regional Sales Manager and most recently with Kingston Communications.

His knowledge and expertise within the Nortel portfolio is unrivalled. In October 2003 he was awarded the highly acclaimed title of Nortel Best Specialist Support and also received Kingston Communications' High Achiever Award.

He is a qualified sales professional and holds certificates of achievement in the areas of Customer Interaction Solutions, Enterprise IP Telephony Solutions and Meridian Voice Solutions.

Nick's extensive knowledge of the telecoms sector, coupled with his engineering background, will be invaluable to him in his new role as Nortel Business Development Manager with Central Telecom. Whilst his primary objective will be to ensure that the Nortel Team's sales targets are met and exceeded, he will also be responsible for supporting the sales team, assisting with the targeting of new prospects and using his considerable knowledge and experience to ensure that the company secures the maximum volume of Nortel business.

He will also exploit his previous experience in the area of 'Best Practice' to assess the present approach of Central's sales teams and help with the motivation, development and success of the company's Nortel team, which is going from strength to strength.

Jason, who also comes from a technical background, has a proven track record within the IT and telecoms sector. He joins Central Telecom from Unified Networks, where he was employed as a Consultant Manager, responsible for developing the company's Nortel portfolio.

He has a vast amount of experience within the Nortel portfolio and has established an excellent reputation within the City of London , working with both the Nortel City Team and major IT consultancies.

He was also a member of Nortel's Special Interest Group (SIG), which provides feedback to Nortel on their product lines and previews new product ranges.

In recognition of his efforts with SIG and his extensive work on progressing the Nortel Succession, in April 2004, Jason was also awarded the title of 'Best Specialist Support by Nortel.

To maximise his knowledge and effectiveness, Jason's new role at Central Telecom will be split between sales and pre-sales. His principal role will be in the relationship development, management and promotion of Central Telecom within the Nortel Direct Touch team and primary IT Consultancies.

As well as identifying and managing sales opportunities, he will also be working closely with the technical management team to further develop Nortel technical resources and provide project management advice.
