AVAYA APPOINTS BUSINESS & CHANNEL VETERAN AS VICE-PRESIDENT FOR UK, IRELAND AND SOUTHERN AFRICA
GUILDFORD, UK - Avaya Inc. (NYSE:AV), a leading global provider of business communications software, systems and services for businesses, today announced the appointment of Buddie Ceronie as new vice-president for UK, Ireland and Southern Africa. Ceronie, previously vice-president of Channel and Partner Sales, EMEA will take up the new position with immediate effect and will be responsible for the business across the UK and Ireland region which has been expanded to include Southern Africa.
Based at Avaya's UK and Ireland headquarters in Guildford, Ceronie will report to David Winn, vice-president for Avaya in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Ceronie has nearly 20 years experience in the IT and telecommunications industry. He joined Avaya in January 2004 from 3Com where he was the area sales director UK & Ireland, the Commonwealth of Independent States, Middle East, Africa and Nordics. Prior to that he was country manager at Xyplex Networks in South Africa.
David Winn said, "Buddie Ceronie brings a wealth of international business experience coupled with a long career in the technology industry. This gives him the right skills and background to lead Avaya's business and multi-channel strategy in the newly expanded region."
Ceronie graduated in Electrical and Electronic Engineering in Cape Town, South Africa before starting his career in the IT industry with South African Airways. He went on to gain valuable experience in sales and business development, successfully establishing the Southern African operation for Galileo, a leading global distribution systems company (part of the Cendant Corporation) before joining 3Com and moving to the UK.
