CENTRAL TELECOM SCOOPS SECOND MARKETING AWARD
For the second time in as many months, communications specialists Central Telecom have received industry recognition for their innovative marketing strategy.
The company, whose headquarters is on Wetmore Road in Burton-on-Trent and has regional offices in London and Guildford, has received a special EMEA Channel Marketing Award from Avaya, a global leader in communications systems, applications and services.
The EMEA Marketing Award is presented to the Avaya global partner, which has designed and executed a campaign that best demonstrates innovation in marketing, promotion of Avaya products and materials, together with a significant return on investment.
Central received its award for their series of live events which form a pivotal point for all its marketing activities. These events include product Focus Groups, technology forums and workshops at locations as diverse as Silverstone and Brands Hatch in the UK and Lapland and Barcelona overseas. Each event is carefully tailored to meet the needs of the delegates who attend. The company also hosts a series of dedicated seminars and workshops for specific industry sectors.
Central's in-house marketing department is renowned as one of the best in the industry. Over the past six months the team, which is headed up by marketing director Julie White, has been awarded a number of major accolades. Back in March, it became the first company ever to be awarded a Marketing Recognition Award by Avaya and it recently received top honours for Marketing Excellence by internet and communications specialist Nortel. The company also scooped a coveted award from the Corporate Events Association for its 2004 programme of live events.
Central's proactive marketing campaigns continue to play a key role in the company's continued growth. Turnover topped the £20 million mark in 2004 for the first time in the company's history and is on target to reach £24.5 million in the financial year ending 30 June.
"I am delighted to accept the EMEA Channel Marketing Award on behalf of the whole marketing team at Central," commented Julie White, marketing director at Central.
"This is the second marketing award that we have received from Avaya in just two months and I believe this demonstrates our ability to create strong campaigns that meet the objectives of both Central and our business partners."
"We strive for continual improvement - after each campaign we conduct a rigorous de-brief, which includes analysis of customer questionnaires and feedback reports. This allows us to identify how each element of the mix has performed, thus ensuring that the next campaign is even more successful," added Julie.
