CENTRAL NAMED AS FINALISTS IN CHANNEL NETWORK AWARDS
Leading UK business communications specialists Central Telecom have been named as finalists in 2 categories of the Channel Network Awards.
The Channel Network Awards, which are organised by BPL Business Ltd, publishers of Comms Dealer, Communicate and Channel Business and IT Europa, recognise best practice in client solutions and encourages channel partnerships and relationships across the whole of the IT, telephony, voice/data convergence and Internet industries.
They are the only awards that recognise real world ICT solutions as well as channel partnerships and are divided into two sections - the first are exclusively for resellers such as Central who provide solutions for their clients, ranging from SMEs to major enterprises, whilst the second are for suppliers who support their channel partners to deliver these solutions.
Central, which employs more than 300 staff at its headquarters in Burton-on-Trent and regional offices in Guildford and the City of London, are finalists in the Enterprise Converged Solution for their managed service solution for Cheshire Building Society and the Enterprise Vertical Market Solution for Cambridgeshire County Council.
Central recently won the contract to provide a 5 year managed service contract for the whole of Cheshire Building Society’s voice and data communications estate. This 5 year contract includes the provision of a Nortel converged solution for their North of England head quarters along with their 42 branches, including an 55 seat multi media contact centre with an overflow of 25 located at Head Offices and branch networks. Central has also replaced their existing WAN with a BT MPLS solution across their entire network and are managing their inbound and outbound lines and minutes.
As a market leader in the field of convergence and IP Telephony, Central have demonstrated their unique ability to create solutions addressing the needs of their clients across a diverse range of market sectors.
Central provided Cambridgeshire County Councils with a new converged IP network which allowed them to implement a Unified Communication's solution into their organisation. This has achieved a true business transformation, meeting the Council’s objectives to develop an empowered and responsive workforce, whilst delivering more than 20% (£1.2m) savings over a three year period.
Central's Managing Director, Andrew McDougall commented "We are very pleased to once again be nominated for these two categories in the Channel Network Awards. I believe our success in reaching the finals of these prestigious awards for the 5th year in succession illustrates our exceptional technical ability in providing leading edge innovative solutions and applications that serve the unique needs of our customers."
The winners will be announced at a prestigious Awards Evening to be held at The Hilton, Park Lane, London, on Thursday 16th October 2008.
